The Monmouth-Roseville Titans girls basketball team got back on the floor to start the week on Monday night. The Lady Titans would welcome in Three Rivers Conference West Division rival Rockridge to the Shoebox for an important matchup in terms of conference standings and regional seeding. It was a defensive battle early between the Rockets and Titans, with visiting Rockridge taking an early 10-8 lead after the first quarter. The Lady Titans would come out with a much better second quarter, starting the period on a dominant 14-0 run. Ultimately Monmouth-Roseville would take a 30-19 lead at the half, thanks in part to 14 first half points from junior Brianna Woodard and 8 points from junior guard Tatiana Talivaa.
The second half would follow much of the same pace for both teams. M-R would show out big on both offense and defense in the third quarter, going on an 18-5 run to extend the Titans lead to 48-23 after 3 quarters. The final 8 minutes of play would see the girls hold on to their lead while getting in several players from the bench some valuable minutes, as the Titans coasted on to a 54-26 conference win. In the stat book for the Titans, Brianna Woodard would lead the way with 18 points, with Tatiana Talivaa close behind with 16 points. Carmyn Huston would also hit double figures with 12. Other scorers for the Titans included Meyah Hunter, Sophie Russell, Amelia Reynolds, and Emma Robinson all with 2 points.
Monmouth-Roseville improves their overall record to 15-11 with the win and will look to keep the momentum going on Thursday, as the Lady Titans host the Morrison Fillies on Thursday night at 7:00.
