Snow Emergency issued for the City of Monmouth

Snow Emergency begins: 8PM Monday January 8, 2024

Snow Emergency ends: 6AM Wednesday January 10, 2024

Possible accumulations: 6-12 inches

The City of Monmouth is alerting Monmouth residents that a SNOW EMERGENCY will be in effect for 8PM MONDAY JANUARY 8, 2024, UNTIL 6AM WEDNESDAY JANUARY 10, 2024. ANY VEHICLES PARKED ON A “SNOW EMERGENCY” ROUTE NEED TO BE MOVED OFF THE ROUTE. This will help facilitate snow plowing and removal on Snow Emergency Streets.

According to the National Weather Service and local news forecasts, possible snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches could fall beginning early Monday evening continuing into late Tuesday night. At times up to 1 inch of snow could fall per hour. This snow event could be accompanied by high winds and blowing snow later Tuesday.

This announcement is being issued to remind the community that any vehicles parked on designated snow routes during the Snow Emergency WILL BE TICKETED.

SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AND TIME SPAN PREDICTIONS ARE TAKEN FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND LOCAL WEATHER FORECASTS.

BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USECAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
