Mrs. Tway Ann Curry, 72, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 1:00 am, Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Marigold Health Care Center.

Tway was born April 16, 1951, in Canton, Illinois the daughter of Willis Dean and Flora Jane (Johnson) Shaw, Sr. She married Donald L. Curry, Sr. on December 21, 1968, in Galesburg. After thirty-three years of marriage, he preceded her in death on February 8, 2001.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Teresa (Steve) Gordon of Knoxville, Illinois, Lori Curry of Morton, Illinois, Kenneth (Jessica) Curry of Dunlap, Illinois, Donna Curry of Roseville, Illinois, James (Becky) Curry of Gaston, South Carolina, Linda Claeys and Donald “Donnie” Curry, Jr. both of Clarksville, Tennessee; her brother, Myron “Keith” Shaw of Cape Coral, Florida; sister-in-law, Karen Shaw of Canton. Tway is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, Joshua Curry, Tasha Duran, Justin Duran, Christopher Duran, Tiffany Duran, Selena, Duran, Brittnay Curry, Sydney Erickson, Mady Curry, Emma Curry, Jasmine Curry, Kameron Curry, Denise Fasig, Dakota Keller, Zakiya Burke, Mathew Curry, Abby Edwards, Rosalie Curry and James Curry, Jr.; twenty-seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Doug and Willis Shaw, Jr.

Tway earned her certified nurse’s aide certificate from Carl Sandburg College and worked for several nursing homes in the area and Cottage Home Care. Tway had a love for reading books and read until she lost her sight. After the loss of her sight, she discovered audiobooks and continued her love of books. In her earlier years she enjoyed planting flowers, cooking, and baking.

Tway’s wishes were to be cremated. Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, January 26, 2024, at East Linwood Cemetery with Chaplain Jordan Knight officiating. Memorials may be given to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
