Arrest Made in Aggravated Kidnapping Case

On 3-27-2025, the McDonough County States Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant for Jamil A. Purnell for the offense of Aggravated Kidnapping. On 4-23-2025, the U.S. Marshals Service located Purnell after an extensive investigation. Purnell was subsequently taken into custody.

The Macomb Police Department would like to thank the U.S. Marshal Service, Illinois State Police Troops 3 & 4, the Chicago Police Department, and the McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office for assisting with this incident.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
