At the October Warren County Board meeting, Trajectory Energy Partners, a clean energy developer based in Illinois, presented the idea of constructing solar panels and battery storage at the county farm south of Monmouth, informs Buildings and Grounds Chairman Sean Cavanaugh:
“They are proposing that at part of the county farm, they would like to put up solar panels to work with the co-op. This could be developed in two ways, one with just solar panels and another where they would have large capacity battery storage on-site too. As it is being generated, the energy, we could have battery storage to hold onto for whatever purpose. This is an opportunity for income for the county. It would be over $100,000 a year in income, above what we would get for leasing it.”
The Warren County Farm, which consists of 81 acres, has a McDonough Power Co-op substation on the corner, making it a popular location for a solar farm. Trajectory Energy Partners will return next month to present with more data to the Warren County Board.
