Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 14, 2024:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys bowler, Kaleb Kirkpatrick. Bowling on the West Central/Monmouth-Roseville co-op team, Kaleb came up big when it counted at the Morton Regional Tournament at Potter Lanes. He rolled a 6-game score of 1145, which was good enough to qualify him for the sectional tournament. The total was tied for 9th highest of the day. His single game score of 233 was tied for 10th highest.

*Due to the winter storm, all events were canceled for Red Storm athletics last week*

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior boys bowler, Ethan Nichols. Ethan just missed qualifying for sectionals last season but came up big in his next opportunity. He rolled the 11th highest score of the day at the Morton regional tournament to send him on to the sectional meet in Rockford. Better yet, Ethan’s single game-high of 242 was tied for the 4th highest of the day among all bowlers.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls bowler, Ashley Yoder. Ashley had a fantastic finish at the Sterling MLK Tournament. She rolled a 6-game score of 1126 for an average of 188 pins per game. That was the 8th highest of the day. Ashley’s amazing single-game high of 246 was the 4th highest total of all bowlers.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys bowler, Tyler Condreay. Tyler busted out for the 4th highest, 6-game total of 1198 in the Morton Regional Tournament at Potter Lanes. That averages out to just under 200 pins per game for him. Tyler’s score was easily high enough to send him to the sectional tournament at Rockford’s Don Carter Lanes.
