Love Letters begins with the acceptance of an invitation by Andrew Makepeace Ladd III (Zachary Hunter) for the birthday party of Melissa Gardner (Courtney Howard) and Melissa’s thank-you note asking just why he got her “The Lost Princess of Oz” (answer: she looks like a lost princess).
What begins as frivolous note sharing between childhood friends unfolds into a lifelong love affair via the art of letter writing that’s destined to last for almost half a century.
Written by A.R. Gurney, Love Letters is a tender, tragi-comic, and nuanced examination of the shared nostalgia, missed opportunities, and deep closeness of two lifelong, complicated friends.
Love Letters is sponsored by Kohl’s Diamond Gallery.
