Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a special dinner theater performance of Love Letters at Prairie Players Civic Theatre, 160 South Seminary Street, Galesburg, on Saturday, February 10. Dinner begins at 6:30, with the play starting at 7:30.

Tickets are $60 for couples and $35 for individuals.
There will also be a performance only (no dinner theatre) on Friday, February 9, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $16 for adults and $9 for students.
Tickets can be purchased at prairieplayers.com.
Love Letters begins with the acceptance of an invitation by Andrew Makepeace Ladd III (Zachary Hunter) for the birthday party of Melissa Gardner (Courtney Howard) and  Melissa’s thank-you note asking just why he got her “The Lost Princess of Oz” (answer: she looks like a lost princess).

What begins as frivolous note sharing between childhood friends unfolds into a lifelong love affair via the art of letter writing that’s destined to last for almost half a century.

Written by A.R. Gurney, Love Letters is a tender, tragi-comic, and nuanced examination of the shared nostalgia, missed opportunities, and deep closeness of two lifelong, complicated friends.

Love Letters is sponsored by Kohl’s Diamond Gallery.
