The Monmouth-Roseville Titans girls basketball team’s strong season came to an end last week in the class 2A Macomb regional. After a bye in the quarterfinals, the Lady Titans took down Rockridge in the semis to set up a regional title tilt with the Canton Little Giants last Thursday. This would be where Monmouth-Roseville’s season would come to an end, as a very good Canton team took a 67-35 win over the Titans. Despite the loss in the regional final, it was still a season of success for the Lady Titans. Monmouth-Roseville captured another 20-win season, the 4th in the last 5 seasons, while also seeing two players reach 1,000 points in senior Carmyn Huston and junior Brianna Woodard. The Lady Titans have also reached a regional title game in each of the past 3 years. The girls’ program will now turn its sights on preparing for next season, and they will do so without 2 impactful players, as seniors Carmyn Huston and Meyah Hunter will graduate from MRHS in May. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, Lady Titans head coach Scott Weber says that while Huston and Hunter’s presence will be missed next season, the cupboard is not bare as Monmouth-Roseville looks to keep their success going in to next year.

Monmouth-Roseville finishes their season with an overall record of 21-12 and a 9-3 mark in Three Rivers Conference play. For the full interview with Coach Weber, visit the Sports Podcast section.
