Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb. 11, 2024:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Carmyn Huston. Carmyn was outstanding in a regular season finale victory over perennial power Brimfield. She posted a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds in the impressive home win. For the season, Carmyn is leading the team in points per game and is second in rebounds.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys basketball player, Nolan Jenks. Nolan had a solid week across the board on the stat sheet. He averaged six points and four rebounds per game in the Red Storm’s 3 scheduled games. Nolan was particularly good in a win over West Central, posting 10 points and five rebounds, along with 3 steals.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Harlee Hainds. Harlee posted a career-high 29 points, along with 12 rebounds, in an LTC win over Ridgewood in her team’s next-to-last regular season game. She was even better in the regular season finale. Harlee bettered her career mark with an amazing 30 points, and 12 more rebounds in win against Knoxville.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is girls wrestlers, senior Hannah Almandarez and junior Annalisa Gibbons. Both girls qualified for the IHSA State Wrestling Finals by placing 2nd in their respective weight classes at the Geneseo Sectional Tournament. Hannah is (19-3) on the season in the 100 pound weight class. Annalisa is (19-6) for the year in the 140 pound division.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is freshman girls basketball player, Kaydin Quinn. Kaydin has really turned up her game as the postseason approaches. In three wins to close out the regular season last week, she averaged over seven points and three rebounds. Kaydin was especially strong on the offensive glass, hauling in seven offensive rebounds.
