After Historic Season, A-Town Girls Basketball Future Looks Even More Promising

Share

The 2023-2024 IHSA girls basketball season is officially over after championship games for all 4 classes of basketball took place over the past weekend. With the season over, the Abingdon-Avon Lady Tornadoes basketball team reflects on a very successful season for the program. Not only would A-Town set the record for most wins in a single season with a 26-8 record, Abingdon-Avon would capture a regional title with a 46-40 win over Wethersfield, then fell just short of a class 1A sectional title, falling 44-37 to an Illini Bluffs team that would finish as a runner up in class 1A.

Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, A-Town girls basketball head coach Brent Dugan says the future is incredibly bright for the girl’s program, as the Tornadoes return their young talent for next season.

Abingdon-Avon’s only graduating player from this year’s roster will be senior Addyson Anderson. For the full interview with Coach Dugan, visit the Sports Podcast section of our website, radiomonmouth.com.
