Mrs. Betty Jane Crosson “Jane”, born April 22nd 1932, age 91, passed peacefully in her sleep in her sleep in Galesburg, IL, on March 17th, 2024.

Born in Victoria, IL, the daughter of Archie Nathan and Mary Milroy. She graduated from ROWVA High School, class of 1951. Jane was a working woman, as she worked as a telephone operator and supervisor for over 30 years at Centel. Jane retired in 1987 at the age of 55. Throughout Jane’s life she enjoyed many things such as; gardening, sewing, collecting, playing BINGO, taking pictures, and attending church. Jane was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg, IL, where she was also a member of the choir. Jane also enjoyed spending time with her large and loving family. Jane lived a very loving life; she met her first husband William “Bill” Holcomb Sr. at ROWVA High School. They married on November 30th, 1952. During their marriage they shared two children, Margo and William “Bill” Jr. During their marriage the two moved and settled in Galesburg. Jane was widowed on July 22nd, 1976. Jane then remarried William “Bill” Crosson on February 14th, 1982. Bill brought six wonderful stepchildren into her life. Jane was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and she even went on to be a great-great grandmother. Betty Jane Crosson was an exceptional person and she will be missed dearly.

Jane is survived by her sister, Marilyn Saline, two children, Margo (Ed) Rockhold, Bill (Debbie) Holcomb Jr., and her six step-children; Dale (Karen) Crosson, Tim (Allyson) Crosson, Rene (Frank) Harrigan, Debbie Crosson, Bonnie (Irving) Epperson, and Monica Robinson. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Jane is preceded in death by her two husbands. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.

A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 2:00 PM, March 22, 2024 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg. Hinchliff-Pearson-West is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions in Jane’s name may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Galesburg or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.h-p-w.com.
