Celebrating 55th Town and Country with Local Youth Artwork

Share

The 55th Annual Town and Country Art Show is on display at the Buchanan Center for the Arts, featuring the local artwork of students in sixth through twelfth grade in Henry, Henderson, Mercer, and Warren Counties. Executive Director Kristyne Gilbert shares the juror for this year’s show is a Monmouth native:

“We inherited this art show from the community. We host it annually in the gallery. Over the last couple of years we have actually split the show because it is so popular and this year we are featuring the artwork of sixth to twelfth grade students. They are incredibly talented. This year’s juror is Laura Cavanaugh. If that name sounds familiar, it should be. Laura is originally form Monmouth and is a graduate of Monmouth College. Having retired after 35 years of teaching art in the Chicagoland area, we are so excited to be partnering with her. She lives a breathes art and is an exceptional teacher.”

A gallery reception for the 55th Annual Town and Country Art Show will be held this Saturday, March 9th from 2 to 4 pm. The exhibition will be on display in the gallery through April 26th.
