As changes and updates were made to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA form, it is not too late to apply. Dean of Enrollment Management at Carl Sandburg College, Lisa Hanson, explains they will assist any student and their families complete the application:

“It is a two-part process now. We used to be able to have families come in and we could help them in one fell swoop to complete that FAFSA application. On the new process, you need to do the FSA ID first and then it takes about a three day time frame before you can actually do the FAFSA. We are having families that are completing the FAFSA, once they have the FSA ID, they are doing the FAFSA process in like fifteen minutes. One of our community service projects at Sandburg is that we will help any student, attending any college or university. It is best to come out with your parent if you are under the age of 24. We are open 8 am to 5 pm in the Financial Aid office and we will assist anyone.”

The deadline to fill out the FAFSA is June 30, 2024.
