Story by Kadin Rogers

Monmouth-Roseville softball’s 2024 spring season officially got underway yesterday, on a beautiful day for softball at Monmouth Park. The Titans hosted the Stark County Rebels for a non-conference home match. A late surge for Monmouth-Roseville would help secure a 14-9 win in the season and home opener for the Titans. The Titans did not have the season the program hoped for in 2023, as they finished the year with an overall record of 5-18, with a 0-11 mark in the Three Rivers Conference but the program did take strides forward as a program.

Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show for the first time this season, Titans head softball coach Jarrod Hippen says the team showed numerous improvements in last night’s game, which Monmouth-Roseville will look to expand on throughout this season.

M-R softball was scheduled to take the diamond again on Thursday in Galva, however, due to heavy storms last night and projected rain in the forecast, the game has been postponed to March 26th. For the full interview with Coach Hippen, visit the Sports Podcast section.
