Jodi Keever Joins Silas Willard Elementary Team

The Galesburg CUSD #205 Board of Education has hired Jodi Keever as the new principal at Silas Willard Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year.

Mrs. Keever has been an educator for 18 years.  She has been the principal at Mable Woolsey Elementary in Knoxville, Illinois for two years and previously taught third grade at Mable Woolsey Elementary.  She taught for 7 years at Des Plaines Community Consolidated School District 62 in Des Plaines, IL, and for one year at Franklin McKinley School District in San Jose, California.

According to Mrs. Keever, “I firmly believe that a strong partnership between the school, parents, students, and the wider community is essential for fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment. Collaboration and open communication will be at the heart of my approach as we work together to ensure the success of every student.”

Originally from Villa Park, IL, where she still visits her parents and siblings, she earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Illinois, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University, and a Master’s Degree in Administration from Western Illinois University.

“My vision for Silas Willard is one of inclusivity, innovation, and excellence. I am committed to upholding the school’s values while also seeking new opportunities for growth and improvement. Together, we will strive to create a culture where every student feels valued, inspired, and empowered to reach their full potential.”

Mrs. Keever and her husband Ryan have two children, Reid who is 8, and Adalyn who is 5. Mrs. Keever enjoys running 5K races, reading, baking and watching the University of Illinois football and basketball teams.
