Kaiser Permanente Announces Data Breach Affecting Millions

Share

The health care company Kaiser Permanente is announcing a major data breach.  It involves a data transmission to tech companies that may have included some members’ personal information.  The third-party vendors involved are Google, Microsoft, Bing, and X – formerly Twitter.  Kaiser is notifying 13.4 million current and former members of the breach.  The information released apparently did not include sensitive data such as usernames, passwords, or financial information.  However, it did include IP addresses, names, information indicating a member or patient’s access to Kaiser’s services, and search terms used in the health encyclopedia.
