Mary Diane Gullberg, age 64, of Media, Illinois, passed away suddenly Sunday, April 28, 2024 at her home.  She was born September 27, 1959 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the daughter of Patrick and Margaret Long Keane.  On August 18, 1980, she married Jonathan Arthur Gullberg at St. Patrick Catholic Church near Raritan.  He survives.

Diane was a 1977 graduate of Southern High School in Stronghurst. She attended Western Illinois University in Macomb, and cosmetology school in Davenport, IA.  She worked at various beauty salons early in life, and later, devoted her time to her children, and most recently, to her grandchildren, which she adored.

Survivors include her husband: Jon, three daughters: Holly Gullberg of Roseville, IL, Kara Joyner of Burlington, IA, Margaret “Maggie” Appell of Galesburg, IL, one son: Ryan Gullberg of Media, IL, six grandchildren: Lexis Waddell, Ryan J. Joyner, Zella Peterson, Trooper Gullberg, Harper Root, and Ariya Root, three sisters: Janet Helms of Peoria, IL, Judi (Fred) DiRosato of Fairlawn, OH, Nancy (Jerry) Rosenberg of Peoria, IL, and four brothers: John (Vicki) Keane of Media, IL, Ed (Joni) Keane of Wesley Chapel, FL, David Keane of Roseville, IL, and Tom (Sandra) Keane of Stronghurst, IL.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson: Wyatt Peterson.

The funeral service for Diane will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 4, 2024 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. Burial will follow in the Olena Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  A memorial fund had been established for the Charlie & Emma Foundation.  Please visit Diane’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence.
