United Red Storm Baseball Readies for Tough Stretch of Games

Share

The United Red Storm baseball team has gotten a small unwelcome break from action over the past week. Due to a period of cold and stormy weather, United’s last game took place last Saturday, when the Red Storm travelled to Community Field in Burlington for a doubleheader against the West Central Heat. After sweeping both of those contests, United now sits at 10-5 overall on the season, and 3-1 in the Lincoln Trail Conference. United finally gets back on the diamond tonight on the road in Alleman before taking Saturday off for prom night. After their weekend break, the Red Storm get back to action next week with 3 scheduled games during the weekdays, and then a very important LTC double header with Mercer County next Saturday. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, United baseball coach Ryan Molek says with regional seeding for the IHSA playoffs coming up in 10 days, the Red Storm’s plan with the pitching rotation will be slightly affected as they look to gather wins and potentially improve their seeding for the class 1A regional that United will be hosting.

United’s contest against Alleman tonight will begin with the first pitch at 4:30. For the full interview with Coach Molek, visit the Sports Podcast section of our website, radiomonmouth.com.
