Story by Kadin Rogers

The United Red Storm softball team finally got back in action yesterday after a nine day break from the diamond in the middle part of April. After United’s April 13th doubleheader against Galva, rain and cold weather wiped out several games on the Red Storm’s schedule before they were finally able to take the field yesterday for a home doubleheader against Annawan/Wethersfield. United would end up dropping both games to the Titans, which brings their overall record to 2-13 on the season, as the Red Storm head in to another home game scheduled for tonight against 13-3 Knoxville. In addition to being a big test for United, tonight’s game will also be important because it will honor the current senior class on the softball team. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show this morning, Red Storm softball coach Marc McMahon discussed what this senior class of Amber Brunswig, Maddie Hepner, and McKenzie Stevens has meant for his squad over the past few years.

Tonight’s Red Storm senior night contest against Knoxville will begin with the first pitch at 4:30 from United High School. You can hear all the action from that game live on the Prairie Communications Sports Network tonight, as our AM 1330/FM 95.7 WRAM pregame show will hit the air at 4:15. In addition to the radio, you can also listen to the game live on our website, radiomonmouth.com.
