Mrs. V. Mae Heck age 87, of Galesburg Illinois died at 11:13 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2024, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg. 

She was born October 19, 1936, in Laura, Illinois to Carl and Glenna (Wilmot) Motz.  She married H. Blain Heck on June 3, 1955, in North Henderson, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on February 18, 1990.

Surviving is a son, Steven B. (and Lori) Heck of Galva, Illinois, four daughters, Margaret Sherbeyn of LaFayette, Illinois, Pamela (and Jim) Stafford of Burlington, Iowa, Christine Williams of Kewanee, Illinois, and June (and Mike) Miculek of Clarksville, Tennessee, 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Carl Dale Motz and Gene Motz, and two sisters, Margaret Henson and JoAnn Heck. 

Mae graduated from Galesburg High School in 1954.  She was a homemaker who cared for her husband and five children.  She enjoyed putting puzzles together and latch hook crafting.  She also enjoyed gardening, especially growing her flowers.  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. 

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the chapel.  Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate.  The burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
