Out if 33 entries, Adalyn Haynes won Best of Day, Brass Solo at the Rockridge Junior High IESA Solo/Ensemble contest for West Central, shares Superintendent Stacey Day:

“We have new music instructors this year for both band and chior. At the middle school they took 33 different kids up to Rockridge for the IESA Solo/Ensemble Contest and she [Adalyn Haynes] came home with Best of Day for the brass event, that is a huge deal. There are hundreds of kids performing at solo and ensemble contests in that category. We brought her and Lauren Hinshaw to the board meeting after that contest so they could perform their solos for us.”

Additionally, at the elementary level, West Central students raised over $700 during their Send a Sucker to a Friend event, donating funds to the Angel Tree Organization, while over $5,000 was raised during the Kids Heart Challenge for the American Heart Association.
