Argyle R. Lydic

Argyle R. Lydic, age 94, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 2:28 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Monmouth Nursing Home. She was born January 19, 1930 in Roseville, Illinois, the daughter of Roy A. and Alice M. (Siders) Thurman. Argyle was a graduate of Little York High School and also attended Browns Business College. On June 10, 1950, she married William D. Clark.  Argyle later married Russell U. Lydic and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2011. 

Argyle worked most of her career in offices of Formfit of Monmouth, Burlington Truck Lines of Galesburg, Brown Lynch Scott, and Maytag in data processing and payroll.  Argyle was a long-time member of the Galesburg, Cameron, and Gerlaw Christian Churches. Argyle is survived by one daughter, Diane Clark Lydic and Paul of Monmouth, Illinois, three granddaughters, Cheri Gipson, Jaimey Lydic, and Jessica Cargill and Matt, great-grandchildren, Samantha Mason, Callie Mason, Ruslan Gipson, Pasha Gipson, Christian Williams, Jenny Johnson, Clark, Chip, Ellie, and Emmie Cargill, great great, grandson, Jude Kelly.  Also surviving are three sisters, Shari Lackey, Carol Olson, and Clita Moore, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, son Bill Clark, brother, Charles Thurman, brothers-in-law, Willard Moore, Larry Scranton, Lonnie Lackey, Merion Olson, and nephews, Rick Thurman, Greg and Lynn Olson. 

A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Lake Warren Community Center. Interment will be at 1:00 PM on the same day at Silent Home Cemetery in Cameron, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are being established for Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Monmouth, IL or the Galesburg Animal Rescue, Galesburg, Illinois.
