Celebrate National Beef Month by Supporting Local Products

Share

With the weather starting to feel more like summertime, it means grilling season is here. For anyone looking to support locally grown beef this National Beef Month, Tri-County Cattlemen’s Gayle Baker says the Illinois Beef Association offers a Local Beef Directory to connect consumers and producers.

“We have Sumner Point Beef company that’s Krystal Jungmann in Little York, Illinois. Janssen Cattle Company with Chris Janssen out of Avon, Illinois. Those are both BQA (Beef Quality Assurance) certified and grain finished,” says Baker. “Rockin’ D on the Ridge is Royce DeJaynes out of La Harp. Then there is Ruebush Farms, Alex, and Katie Ruebush out of Colchester. They are a natural beef supplier. So, all BQBA certified, some grain finished, or natural.”

The Local Beef Directory can be found on the Illinois Beef Association website.
