Asian Longhorned Tick Confirmed In Illinois

The Asian longhorned tick is in Illinois. Illinois is the 20th state to discover the invasive species. The tick was found on April 12th during routine active tick surveillance in Morgan County. Additional surveillance in the area on April 24 discovered two additional Asian longhorned ticks, which are capable of carrying tick borne diseases that affect cattle.
