Chargers’ Nagel Voted All-Arrowhead for 2nd Straight Season

For the second year in a row, Sandburg softball player Maleaha Nagel was voted to the All-Arrowhead Conference team.

The Chargers’ first baseman was selected to the squad by league coaches after leading Sandburg in nearly every offensive category in conference play this spring.

In 52 plate appearances over 16 Arrowhead games, Nagel, a sophomore from Abingdon-Avon High School, led the Chargers with a .490 batting average, .519 on-base percentage, .939 slugging percentage and 1.458 OPS. The Sandburg slugger also paced the team with 24 hits, six home runs, 18 RBIs, 14 runs, 10 extra-base hits and 46 total bases against conference opponents.

The lefthanded hitter collected a hit in 12 of her 16 Arrowhead games. Nagel also swiped three bases in three attempts and had a .989 fielding percentage, committing just one error in 89 chances.
