Following changes made to the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, it was finally released December 31st, 2023. With obstacles and hurdles nor taken care of by the Department of Education, Jane Schreck, Associate Vice President of Student Financial Planning at Monmouth College, informs they are just now receiving FAFSA forms for incoming and returning students:
“It started out several months late. It was very glitchy and then the deadlines and timelines just kept getting pushed back as the Department of Education had many obstacles and hurdles that they had not planned appropriately for. We are just receiving accurate FAFSA information for most students. The federal government was admitting that there was about 40 percent of them that had errors. Financial Aid packages have been going out to perspective students. We have been doing our best to get reliable information about what we can for them so that families can make a decision and plan for where they want their children to be next year. With regards to current students, returning students for the fall, we are running about two weeks behind.”
The deadline for FAFSA application submission at Monmouth College has been extended to June 1st.
