The Monmouth Police Department recently upgraded their in-car video recording system to coincide with the body cameras being worn by the officers, informs Police Chief Joe Switzer:

“The officers received training on the operation of the systems, how they coincide, they do sync together; the in car system and the body worn system. When triggers are initiated, I will use the example of turning the overhead lights on the squad car on, it triggers the whole system to go into operation. It is a tool, obviously, that we use to protect us, we use those tools to protect the community, and they aid in court situations that the State’s Attorney can use those videos during that process.”

Meanwhile, during the month of April, the Monmouth Police Department conducted 44 arrests, issued 79 citations, handled 1,245 calls, 24 which were accidents, the dispatch center received 2,643 calls, and the officers worked 38 grant hours.
