Last week the City of Monmouth confirmed the purchase of 522 North Main street by the Jimmy John’s franchise. Area Manager Matt Haberman explains the process on the decision of opening a location in Monmouth:
“There is a little bit of work that goes into it. Jimmy John’s they will help on the corporate side, they will look at areas based on demographics and we will work with them on that. Part of the reason we stepped into Illinois was last year we purchased two existing units from another franchisee in Dixon and Rock Falls, so that was us stepping our foot into a new state. We are based in Iowa, that is where most of our stores are, but we are looking to expand into Illinois. The town is a perfect demographic size and everything, we are excited to be there and think it will do really well.”
The Jimmy John’s franchise is expected to open in Monmouth in September or October of 2024.
