At the recent Monmouth City Council meeting, the Lipanda Foundation out of Galesburg presented a special request in holding a festival on Saturday, June 29th, informs Mayor Rod Davies:
“They are a group that supports and works with the French speaking African people. The last two or three years they have had festivals in Galesburg and they wanted to move part of that festival to Monmouth, Saturday, June 29th from 5 to 10 pm. They will have booths and different groups, vendors, and music; a lot of different things going on to share some cultural things, food, and what not.”
Additionally, City Council approved a request by ICS to close the 100 Block of North B Street this Friday, May 10th from 4 to 7 pm for their drive-thru Serenata Dinner fundraiser.
