Monmouth-Roseville’s Carmyn Huston Ends Titan Track Career With Two Medals From State Finals

The Monmouth-Roseville high school track program had a big weekend at the 2024 IHSA state track meet in Charleston. After a fantastic showing at sectionals, Titans senior thrower Carmyn Huston qualified for the state meet in both the shot put and discus events. Competing on Saturday, Huston won 2 medals on the day, finishing 8th in the discus with a throw of 35.04 meters, and 2nd in the shot put with a final throw of 12.3 meters. Huston’s success at state this year is nothing new for her, as this is the third straight year of medaling at Eastern Illinois University. Huston medalling at state added on to a big week overall for Monmouth-Roseville sports, as the girls soccer team captured a regional title while the boys baseball team made an appearance in a regional championship game.
