Several Monmouth/Galesburg Area Softball Teams Ranked Highly in Latest ICA Poll

The newest Illinois Coaches Association, or ICA, has released its latest high school softball rankings. (27-1) Casey Westfield is the #1 ranked team in class 1A. Westfield’s only loss of the season came to a team from Terre Haute, Indiana. The Lincoln Trail Conference is represented by 3 schools in the 1A list. (20-0) Ridgewood is #3 and (19-2) West Central is #10. (14-9) Abingdon-Avon received votes this week but not enough to crack the top-20. (16-0) Illini Bluffs is #4, right behind Ridgewood. (23-1) Beecher heads up the 2A ICA rankings this week. (19-3) Rockridge their 10-game winning streak snapped last night against Morrison. The Rockets are #3 this week. Another Three Rivers Conference West Division school, Sherrard, is #17. The Tigers are (16-6) overall. The Peoria-area dominates the class 3A rankings, with 2 schools in the top-3. East Peoria is #2 and Metamora is #3. (21-1) Chatham Glenwood tops the list. Western Big Six member Sterling is (17-3) and ranks at #6 this week. They are the only Big Six school to be ranked in class 3A or 4A.
