Story by Kadin Rogers

The United Red Storm baseball team is getting hot at just the right time as we head into the last few days of the 2024 high school baseball regular season. United is currently in the midst of an extended winning streak, and the bats are clicking for the Red Storm as they have scored 70 runs over the course of their last 6 victories. Sitting at 19-7 overall on the season, United has just 2 games left before postseason play, a game tomorrow against (21-3) Lewistown/North Fulton, and a match on Monday against ROWVA/Williamsfield. The Red Storm have their match up and time set up for the semifinals of class 1A regionals. United will be hosting a regional tournament this year, and their first match is on this upcoming Thursday against West Prairie. If the Red Storm can take down West Prairie on Thursday, they will be in the championship game at home next Saturday. Speaking on the WRAM Morning Show on Friday, Head Coach Ryan Molek says the team is excited for a chance to host regional play on their new baseball field.

Molek adds that while the team is gearing up for regionals, they are still focused on closing out the regular season strong, and crossing the 20 win mark for the 3rd time in the past 4 seasons.
