The United softball team had a small break in action in the past week due to several contests on their schedule being cancelled or pushed back due to rainy conditions. On Thursday, the Red Storm had their game against Princeville cancelled, before having their Saturday doubleheader against Stark County pushed back to this weekend. Coming up on this week’s schedule for United is a doubleheader on tap for Tuesday night against ROWVA/Williamsfield in Williamsfield, however that one is still weather pending due to overnight rain. If the Red Storm can squeeze Tuesday’s contest in, their last regular season finale will be Saturday at home for a doubleheader against Stark County.

After the Red Storm wrap up the regular season, they will then shift their focus to next week’s class 1A regional tournament. United was given the 9-seed in the West Central regional, and will host a play-in game against 10-seed Bushnell-Prairie City on Monday, May 13th.

United Head Coach Marc McMahon recently previewed the team’s upcoming regional match up on the WRAM Morning Show on Tuesday.

If United can get a win over BPC on the 13th, they will travel to play regional host West Central in Stronhurst on Tuesday, May 14th.
