Arrest Made in Connection with June 7th Galesburg Shooting

On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Chase Houlden Jr. was taken into custody on a Knox County arrest warrant for murder. Houlden remains in custody at the Knox County Jail.

This arrest is the result of a shooting on June 7, 2024, at 949 E. South Street in Galesburg, which resulted in the death of Cam’ron Glass, 18 years old, of Galesburg, and the injury of Chase Houlden, 19 years old, of Galesburg.

As previously reported, the Galesburg Police Department responded to the 900 block of E. South Street in reference to shots being fired on Friday, June 7, 2024, at approximately 11:12 AM. Upon arrival, a gunshot victim, later identified as Cam’ron Glass, was located inside the residence at 949 E. South Street. Glass was pronounced deceased at the scene with an apparent gunshot wound.

Houlden was also injured during the shooting incident and was hospitalized at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria prior to being taken into custody on the arrest warrant for murder.
