Galesburg High School Football Coach Agrees To Resign

Share

The Galesburg Community School District is parting ways with football coach Derrek Blackwell.  The district and Blackwell have come to a resignation agreement that pays him 50-thousand dollars and ends his tenure as coach of varsity football, boys track, 7th-grade boys basketball coach and as security officer at Galesburg Junior Senior High School.  The resignation comes after Galesburg police responded to Blackwell’s home in April on a domestic violence report.  The victim told police that he pushed them down.  Blackwell denied the allegations, but was placed under arrest.
