It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joann Olomon Baatz, born on June 21, 1938, in Galesburg, Illinois, and peacefully passed away on April 7, 2024, in Zephyrhills, Florida. Joann was 85 years old at the time of her passing.
Joann had a fulfilling career as an Office Manager for a Mobile Home Transportation Company, where she dedicated herself to her work with diligence and grace. Her interests were varied, and she was known for her talent in knitting, which brought joy to many individuals. Additionally, she was an avid reader who found solace and pleasure in the pages of books.
In the early ’80s, Joann made the decision to relocate to Florida from Maple City, Michigan, seeking new adventures and experiences. Her adventurous spirit and warm demeanor endeared her to those around her. Joann’s memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Joann is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Olando and Avis Dorene Roberts Olomon, sister Mary Hale, as well as her sons, Gregory Chris Baughman, and Kevin Ericson.
She is survived by her loving son, Eddy Mower and wife Theresa, daughters, Robin Walters, Tami Beverlin and husband Jack, stepchildren, Roland Baatz Jr., Particia Baatz, Michael Baatz and Randy Baatz, sister Ruby Way, Galesburg, along with nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Joann’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
May she rest in peace, knowing that she was an exceptional person who touched the lives of many with her warmth and creativity.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Knoxville Cemetery. Cremation has been accorded. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services are assisting her family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
