Mr. David W. Livermore, 77, Galesburg, Illinois died 10:47 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. 

He was born June 14, 1947, in Macomb, Illinois, the son of Benjamin “Wayne” and Mary (Taylor) Livermore.  He married Faye Vos on May 27, 1994, in Galesburg. 

Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Faye Livermore of Galesburg, two sons, Derek (and Brenda) Clevidence of Cottage Grove, Wisconsin and their children, Brett and Emily and Daniel (and Nona) Clevidence of Ankeny, Iowa, and their children, Jack and Kyle, a daughter, Lynda (and Bud) Erickson of Boone, North Carolina, and their children, Morgan (and Dylan) Cross, Ryan, Casey, and Breanne, and a brother, Daniel L. (and Valerie) Livermore of Edwards, Illinois.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

David was raised in Roseville, Illinois and attended Roseville High School, graduating in 1965.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971, which included two years in Vietnam.  He later attended Sangamon State and received his bachelor’s degree in 1986.

He worked for the Peoria Adult Intensive Probation Unit for three years.  He then worked as a Parole Office for the Department of Corrections at Henry C. Hill in Galesburg for 20 years.  He retired on March 31, 2007.

David was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg, the American Legion Post #0371 in Williamsfield, a Life Member of the VFW #230 in Monmouth, a benefactor member of the National Rifle Association, a Life Member of the Illinois State Rifle Association and a member of Ducks Unlimited.  David loved shooting his guns and was an excellent marksman.  He was an active member of the Knox County Humane Society and loved his dogs.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending all of their activities, especially their sporting events.  David was a loyal friend and generous with his time to help. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg.  A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church or OSF Hospice.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
