Illinois Moves to (2-0) in Pool Play at Little League Senior Softball World Series

The Illinois team based out of Beardstown that is taking part in the Little League Senior Softball World Series in Roxana, Delaware this week moved to (2-0) in pool play with a 3-1 win over the team representing the Southeast part of the US, based out of South Carolina. It was Illinois lowest run-output of the postseason so far. Before Tuesday’s game, Illinois had outscored their opponents 49-5 in the postseason.

Taryn Griffith from Chatham-Glenwood had two rbis for Illinois yesterday. Addie Seitz from West Central walked in her only plate appearance and Macomb’s Kylie Robinson was 1-4 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot. Audrey Gilman from Calhoun High School earned the pitching win going all 7 innings, giving up four hits, one earned run with 15 of the 21 total outs coming by way of strikeout.

Illinois will try to get to (3-0) with a win over Canada on Wednesday at 4:30. Canada is (0-2) so far in the tournament. All world series games can be watched at ESPN+.
