Jamieson Community Center has submitted their application to the State of Illinois for a future Child Care Center, which would be housed in the former Knights of Columbus Hall on Sunny Lane in Monmouth. Executive Director Nancy Mowen explains the next steps:

“We are recruiting teachers, people that have that Early Childhood background and education. We will have 10 people on staff. At the same time that we are working on the furnishings, deliveries are coming in almost daily, and that playground space, we will also be recruiting staff. So, that when we have approval from the state, we are ready to go.”

Amanda Beck has been hired on as the Child Care Director, which Mowen informs will be able to serve children 6 weeks through age 12, with a maximum of 68 children at once.
