A ‘Blessing Box’ has been placed at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth, addressing food insecurity in the local community, which stemmed from the Community Health Needs Assessment conducted by OSF three years ago, shared Community Resources Manager Stephanie Hilten. Carson Davies, who will be entering his Senior Year at United High School and member of Troop 60 in Biggsville, assisted with the project:

“I just wanted to help a lot of people. Food insecurity is a big problem and the ‘Blessing Box’ helps a lot of people with it. My buddies and I and my grandpa, they helped me build it out of my grandpa’s garage and Steve from People’s was a big help in getting all the supplies. I have been doing Scouts since about 2nd Grade and I’m trying to get my Eagle Scout finished, so it was a good opportunity helping out with OSF.”

The ‘Blessing Box’ at OSF Holy Family can be found outside the main entrance with non-perishable items.
