West Central High School’s Addie Seitz Leads Illinois to a Win in the Senior League Softball Regionals

Following an all-state softball season in the spring, West Central High School senior-to-be Addie Seitz is playing summer softball for an Illinois team that is currently participating in the Little League Senior Softball Central Region Tournament in Lexington, Kentucky. Seitz’s team is currently (2-0) and is tied with a team from Ohio as the only undefeated teams left in the 8-team tournament. She pitched a 4-inning perfect game against Kentucky on Wednesday, winning 16-0. Seitz struck out 7 of the 12 batters she faced. Just as she did during the high school season in the spring, Addie helped herself at the plate, as well, going 2-3 with 5 rbis and blasting a home run. Illinois and Ohio meet today for a chance to play for the regional championship game on Friday.

The winner of the 6 regional tournaments around the United States will join 4 international teams in Delaware for the 2024 Senior League Softball World Series starting on July 29th. The championship is set for Sunday, August 4th.

Seitz recently announced her commitment to play college softball at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois. Addie’s older sister, Brynna, finished up an outstanding 2-year softball career at Spoon River College and will play her final two years of softball at Bradley University in Peoria.
