75 Years of History at the Warren County Prime Beef Festival

2024 marks the 75th year of the Warren County Prime Beef Festival in Monmouth. With the theme “Prime Beef Through the Ages,” the festival will reflect on 75 years of memories, history, and accomplishments, shares Board Member Aubrey McVey:

“With it being the 75th annual, we are trying to make it a big event, something that is memorable to the community and also, we are taking it as a moment to reflect. We have 75 years worth of Prime Beef Festival history to celebrate and talk about. It is not just what is happening now, but also what has happened in the past to shape us to where we are at now. We have a weeks worth of events. Talking about history and how deep our history is, Prime Beef Festival was founded because of the beef industry in Monmouth and in Warren County. We were on the map. We were actually on the map for the most beef produced in a county and that is when they started celebrating. We are looking at different things to try to hone in on that history and bring things back. One of the things that caught my eye when I was looking through all of our old newspapers is that we used to host a baking competition. I reached out to Security Savings Bank, and they are going to partner with us to be able to actually host a baking competition this year. We are also bringing back a dunk tank fundraiser.”

The Warren County Prime Beef Festival will take place August 31st, and September 2nd through the 7th. A full schedule of events and times can be found on the Warren County Prime Beef Festival Facebook page.
