Annual Monmouth College Freshman Walkout August 19th

Keeping a century old tradition going, 275 incoming freshmen at Monmouth College will get a tour of the town during the annual Walkout event, shares Vice President and Dean for Equity and Well-Being Michelle Merritt:

“They will start at the College, walk down Broadway, around the Square to South Main, and they will go to Alfano’s and cross over to Maple City, go back to the Square, and then back down Broadway. We are really excited because this is a really nice tradition that our community embraces, not all communities do this for new students, and I think it is definitely an opportunity for our new students to see how welcoming we are as a community. New students always are a little nervous when they move to a new town, and we have an opportunity here to show who we are. It is also an opportunity for the businesses to showcase what they do. It is all about creating connections with our students and we want our students to definitely connect with the community.”

The 2024 Monmouth College Freshman Walkout will be Monday, August 19th beginning at 3 pm.
