On Saturday, August 24th, the 8th Annual Rileystrong 5K Color Run and Kids Fun Run will take place in the Monmouth community, honoring Riley Thomas. Organizer Michelle Thomas shares the event is a way to honor her daughter while also giving back to St. Jude:

“August 26, 2016, Riley passed away. It was nine days after her 12th birthday. Without St. Jude we would not have had the time that we had with her. We were able to have eight to nine months longer with Riley. With that, St. Jude is near and dear to my heart and I would do anything to continue to raise money to give back to them to help other children like Riley.”

Registration can be done online at runsignup.com or contacting Michelle directly. The race will begin at the Monmouth American Legion with registration at 8:15 am, 9 am start time, followed by the kids run at 10:15 am and awards rounding out the morning.
