Betty M. Elliott, 84, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL.

Betty was born May 8, 1940 in Monmouth, the daughter of Walter and Eva (Flood) Killip.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1958.

Betty married Willard Lee, James R. Gaskill and later Cecil Elliott.

Betty painted and wallpapered for many years.  She also enjoyed fundraising for the Shop with a Cop program and the Fraternal Order of Police.

She loved her dogs and to travel.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura (Marvin) Cooper of Monmouth; grandchildren, Cassandra Griffin of Monmouth, Tilliea (Josh) Brown of Galesburg and Katie (Wayne Davis) Cooper of Monmouth; Jeff Gaskill, Koleece Spears, and Ty Gaskill; several great grandchildren; her brother Ronnie (Betty) Killip and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cecil Elliott; son, James R. Gaskill; grandson, William Jason Cooper; great-granddaughter, Sarah Beth Gaskill; and sister-in-law, Betty Killip.

Cremation has been accorded.  A Celebration of Life will be held and announced at later date. Memorials may be given to the Betty M. Elliott Memorial Fund to offset her final expenses and sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
