Big Lots is closing more than 300 stores, about a quarter of its locations in the U.S. The move comes after the chain warned that ongoing financial issues put it in “substantial doubt.” Big Lots said previously it planned to close as many as 40 stores in its June earnings report, which recorded at 10-percent decrease in sales as consumers cut back on spending with inflation.
