The Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the distinguished winners of its Annual Dinner and Awards, a premier event celebrating excellence and innovation within the local business community. The Emerald City-themed event, held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at The Vault at Reserve Artisan Ales in downtown Galesburg, was a tremendous success, bringing together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals to honor outstanding achievements.

Recognizing Business Excellence: Award Winners

The Annual Dinner and Awards ceremony showcased remarkable achievements across multiple categories, reflecting the diverse talent and unwavering dedication within the greater Galesburg business landscape. This year’s award recipients are:

  • Small Business Excellence Award: This award honors a small business (with fewer than 25 employees) who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to its organization and the community.
    • Dame Fine Coffee
  • Woman in Business Award: This accolade recognizes a woman-owned or woman-led business leader who has made a significant impact on the community and achieved notable career milestones.
    • Tricia Thomas, Watson-Thomas Funeral Home
  • Five Over 40: This award celebrates five individuals who are 40 years or older, recognized for their leadership and dedication to making a meaningful difference in the local community.
    • Ken Springer, Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development
    • Melissa Shepherd, Way Insurance
    • Heather Sipes, Galesburg Public Library Foundation
    • Rhonda Houzenga, F & M Bank
    • Denise Gerstenberger, Discovery Depot Children’s Museum
  • Chamber Advocate of the Year: This honor is awarded to an individual who has shown exceptional dedication and active support in advancing the mission and goals of the Chamber and the local business community.
    • Zach Maher, First Mid Bank & Trust
