Iowa National Guard Presents 99-year-old Veteran Award In QC

The 99-year-old World War Two Veteran is being honored by the Iowa National Guard in the Quad Cities.  Henry Langrehr was presented with the Silver De Fleury Medal yesterday in Davenport.  The medal is the highest award for professional excellence in the Engineer Regiment.  Langrehr was a paratrooper on D-Day before he was captured by German troops and held as a prisoner of war.  He eventually escaped to return to combat.
