Marjorie Linelle Goff, age 87, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at Marigold Nursing Home in Galesburg, Illinois on Friday August 9, 2024 at 2:08 pm. Linelle was born on July 18, 1937 in Burlington, Iowa and is the daughter of Elbert James and Florence Gladys Lant Bricker. She was raised in Biggsville, Illinois where she attended and graduated from the Biggsville High School in 1955. She then attended completed nurses training and became a Registered Nurse in 1958. In 1960 Linelle served her country from 1960 to 1965 in the Naval Reserve Lieutenant Junior Grade from 1960 to 1962. She later served in the United States Air Force where she was a captain from 1965 to 1967, here she attained the rank of Lieutenant Senior Grade. She was first married to Frederick G. Bossert on July 17, 1965 at Luke Air Force Base  in Chapel, Arizona. He preceded her in his death. She later married Clyde Goff on October 11, 1975 at the Methodist Church in Little York, Illinois and he preceded her in 2003. Linelle began work at Galesburg Research Hospital in Galesburg in 1958 to 1960. She then worked at Northwest University Clinic in 1963 and the Burlington Hospital in 1964. Lastly she worked at Community Memorial Hospital from 1967 to 2000 and her retirement. She attended Rozetta Baptist Church locally.

Linelle is survived by two brothers, Alan Bricker and Bill Bricker, both of Monmouth, Illinois and her nieces and nephews, Jana Stetler and Thomas from Lake Bluff, Illinois,  Jon Bricker and Beth from Metamora, Illinois, Jake Bricker, Mannon Bricker, Jessie Bricker, all of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kelsey Bricker of Davenport, Iowa.  Three step daughters also survive. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husbands, and son, Frederick C. Bossert.

As were her wishes, Linelle wished to be donated to science at the University of Iowa and her ashes will be returned at a later date. At which time, her ashes will be interred with military honors on the Bricker lot in Raritan Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Western Illinois Animal Rescue and may be left off at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, which is in charge of her care.
